One of the things that we are planning to do for Sedna is an ADO.net provider for VFP. This is essentially wrap the current OLEDB provider, and expose additional metadata.

To enable use of VFP data sources in Visual Studio data designers we will use the Data Designer Extensibility (DDEX) SDK.
