I know what you mean, the nice, organized "feel" of similar form appearance and behavior ... but one thing I've learned (finally?) is that the users rarely even see the polished look, or if they do, what they *perceive* or sense is generally a feeling that something is "different" or even "wrong." This of course makes them uneasy ... I've even seen systems designed to mimic "green screens" merely to make the user comfortable.
Talk about look and feel! (Psychology of User Interfaces 101 ...)
However, I first have to stay focused on meeting the base objectives and avoiding scope creep. Call it, "Realities of Project Management 201"...
