Greetings,

We have a time clock system that scans time cards via a COM port utilizing MSCOMM activex control. (We actually do this in VB6, but are going to re-write in VFP8 or VFP9).

I was wondering if anyone has any experience and/or code that allows direct access to a USB port. Or, is this even the way to think about doing it?

I know COM ports are serial based, but can't a USB port be used for just about anything?

Please advise.
