I haven't figured out the problem -- I am not using the NOUPDATE keyword anywhere that would cause this (nor is the form opened else where). The form is a SCX method/property editor that is run inside of VFP; I noticed that a form was opened in READONLY when I attempted to save changes -- was not expected. I have only been able to duplicate the READONLY once more and did not determine the pattern in order to duplicate it (and solve the mystery). I am working as a single developer, so rights are not changed at the system level.

Until I can duplicate the problem it will probably remain a mystery... Thank you all for your help and time.
