I have a good friend who seems to insist that they can just copy the VFP500.DLL like in the days of 2.6. (He was a great 2.6 programmer but never moved to 3.0/5.0 which is fine because I do the 5.0 work).

I've insisted that the Setup Wizard be used for installing the runtime. They would like to do network setups which is fine, but they want to have the DLL loaded on the server in addition to the applications EXE. I believe that even with a network setup, the VFP500.DLL runtime lib is loaded to the client machine and cannot be on the server for a running app. Is that correct or can the DLL be on the server too?
