Thanks for all the feedback, guys!

As far as FoxFire and SF Query, I'm still not sure these products are that similar to what I have in mind. When I looked into FoxFire some years ago, it was very much a 3rd-party tool, and used ODBC for all access. I just looked at SF Query, and though I took a rather shallow look, it still looks to be 3rd-party in the sense that the end user runs a separate exe, and gets reports that look like SF Query makes, instead of the developer's product.
What my product is designed to do is give the developer a user-friendly, yet very powerful report builder to incorporate into his app. The end-user will never know it came from somewhere else. The reports the user can create can look exactly like other reports the app may have. This is the big request we get at the company I work for: the ability to create, save, and print reports that match the built-in reports (letterhead logos, boxes, etc) so that the custom reports can be included in presentations without looking "tacked-on".
Sure, it's possible to simply add a "MODIFY REPORT" command to allow users the ability to create their own reports, but this has so many problems. Firstly, it's confusing and complex for the typical user. Which tables does he need? How to relate them? How to change the fonts?, etc. My design provides an intuitive interface to simplify all this. Secondly, what does the user do with the report? Save it to a file somewhere? Then what? My design saves the files and settings (along with any developer-designed templates) so that the end-product can include the custom reports along with their built-in reports, and can be run just as easily.

Thanks again for the replies! You've given me some inspiration!

>A while back I created a vfp report-generator app that can be incorporated into a larger app. The user can easily drag and drop fields, labels, etc onto a form, selecting the data source for the field from a listbox. It's very easy to use. From that, they can generate an frx which is saved into a list of custom reports. Then, it is a simple matter to run a report. Their custom report can now be run, and will look exactly like, any other built-in vfp report. The feature seems so useful and so easy. I've always heard of the need for a fox report writer without the third-party hassles. Does something like this already exist? Would anyone ever have a need for it? I can't help but think: "if it were a good idea, someone else would've done it already".
