This message has been marked as the solution to the initial question of the thread.
Anybody using Sql Server 2005? I'm curious as to what happened to the Service Manager in the system tray, like SQL 2000 had? I see something called Configuration Manager that does the same stuff (starting/pausing/stopping the Server), but it sure was convenient having that in the system tray before. Anyone know if there's a way to put anything like that in the system tray?

Hey, Bonnie,

SQL Server 2005 services are now built-in with Control Panel-Administrative Tools-Services.

There's no built-in equivalent in SQL2005 for the SQL Server 2000 Service Manager. However, Jasper Smith wrote one that you can download here: http://sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=46

(Info came from the MS public SQL Server newsgroup)

Hope that helps...
Kevin
