I have a client who has an Epson Stylus 500 printer as the windows 95 default printer. When he runs a VFP5a app that includes a grid control, the program dies with a GFP. The problem is somewhat intermittent, however, it is always triggered within a few records when multiple grids are related together.

By simply changing the default windows printer to something else (i.e. HP LJ4) or by uninstalling the Epson printer driver, the app runs fine.

The app previously ran OK with the same Epson 500 driver, however, the computer had a new hard drive installed where everything was installed from scratch. Something about the machine allowed it to work before that is different now. The only different software, is that IE explorer 4 is now installed instead of IE 3. The client has an MSDN subscription so the versions of everything is the best that MS has to offer.

I have seen previous messages relating to crashes that were tied to HP and Epson printers. All of the solutions seem to include switching to a different driver. Unfortunately, the Epson Stylus 500 only seems to have one version of the driver from Epson and Windows 95 never included it.

Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
