Thanks for the reply. I didn't set a PickListDisplayMember on the picker since the textbox would not be shown (I fill in other textboxes manually in the ItemSelected event) so I assume that this.PickListDisplayMember gets evaluated to false in the if statement you talked about which causes the event not to be fired.
