I think, though not 100% sure, that in VFP versions prior to VFP9 the report writer has a problem that variables declared in the report were not properly released. In other words, if you define report variables in your report they would eat memory.

There also could be situations, that you have object reference stored in the form's property. Then somehow outside of the form you destroy that object. In this case your form would not be released from memory. That's called dangling object reference.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
