I understand that the evangelicals have a strong movement in the Central Valley of California. You would think that a large number of the residents would be Catholic. Perhaps that is the case but the Catholics who live there may not be eligible to vote! The evangelicals and the GOP seem to go hand in glove. They would be Democrats but Ted Kennedy is a Catholic!

That is a local joke. Fifty years ago in my neighborhood in San Francisco, if you said, "I am going to Napa, it was thought that you were insane and going to be institutionalized. How times change. The Asylum is closed (allowing the nuts to run loose as “Homeless”) and the wine flows in abundance. :)
