The Poppy is the State flower of California. It may well be that Poppies are sold today somewhere in my area, but the majority of people are from India and China, and you see little celebration regarding events related to the United States. In fact I have difficulty communicating with many people around me as I speak the American form of English (qualified).

Thank God that there is a nice British Pup within walking distance of my house where I can get a good pint of Guinness and a game of darts! There I can talk to people from the UK and Ireland. :)
