Of course.
I don't think any democracy is perfect and ideal.
But is that relevant? You're not going to argue that the imprefections in our democracy are reason enough to condemn the idea that we can promote democracy abroad?

That's far from true. Most analyizers in the US agree that Bush got re-elected in spite of Iraq, not because of it. The campaigns in '04 dealt with domestic plans as much as foreign, from what I recall.
