John,

Thanks very much for replying. I am new to OLE servers and am at a novice stage at OOP. I tried to find the class information inside the .exe and was unsuccessful. I used the class browser and it doesn't show me anything for the file abc.exe.

BTW, this is a commercial application my company is evaluating for use. The programmer showed me how to get every field's control referance like the example I gave before, 'abcform.abcpageframe1.page3.txtfabcpr', but did not give me any class names. I do have the name of the form (and all forms) because they display it in each screen's upper right hand corner.

I have read that the class names should show up in the windows registry but I'm not sure which ones came from this program versus vfp in general. I have also read that the class information could be in an .old or .vlb file but there are none of these. There are several .dll files included. Might the class information be in one of these?

As to the second part of your question regarding how the form is instanced...
Since its an .exe, I'm not sure. As a user of the program, the interface gives me several ways to call the screen.
1) Via menu choice selection.
2) Via a graphical/picture view of the whole system. You point to that part of the picture with the screen you want and click.
3) Direct transfer by form name (you type it in).

BTW, I have been all over the WWW and throughout Compuserve's VFP forum and find little if no information on this. I was at Devcon and have all the CDs from there. I have the migration sourcebook CD that MSFT shipped with my VFP. None of these really address what I'm trying to do but yet I can't believe that no one else (or only a handful) out there is trying to access controls inside an .EXE which is OLE Server Enabled.

There's lots of useful information in all the places I just mentioned for calling up other servers from VFP but very little in reverse when the VFP application is compiled.

Do you or anyone know any good resources for this type of information?

I hope I have addressed what you're looking for. I do appreciate your time.

Stew
