Hi jay,

>>Are there any powerfull muslim in your government? Sure, and as my knowledge of how your society works this is something that can not be prevented in it current form. But is it really a healthy situation that your government is so influencible ?

>So, all Muslims are evil?

Not at all. There are many good muslim. That is not the case. However there are fundamentalists amongst them that could get very violent.

>I'm trying to pull your chain a little bit, but I would like to hear your views on how it might be right to keep Muslims from becoming part of our government.

I don't think it is right to keep muslim from your government. I think that would be one of the best accomplishments of american politics if they do it.

The most famous muslim politician in Holland is Hirsi Ali. She has been critisizing many muslim for beeing inhumane against woman. She has been threatened many times and she now is protected since the van gogh murder. In fact she (as a politician) made a movie with van Gogh (van Gogh was a cineast) about suppression of women in muslim society. The message was that it actually had nothing to do with the islam religion, but rather with power. Some critisized muslim practises are not even mentioned in the Koran (circumcise women).

Anyways, this movie was about to broadcast on dutch television when van gogh was murdered. They canceled the broadcast. It has been not been shown in public yet. Maybe the time is not ready. This movie is one of the reasons that van Gogh was murdered.

Anyways Hirsi Ali is a very brave woman. She went into politics to make a difference, risking her own life. There is a story that when she was having a bite in a local restaurant and young muslim came to her table and said "I'm going to kill you for what you say about our religion". She took a knife from the table and said: "If you want to kill me, take this knife and go ahead". Needless to say the guy was stunned and left the restuarant confused. You'd could not make a better statment to emphasize where you stand for if you ask me.

Walter,
