Thanks for your help.

I use INTERACTIVECHANGE (a wonderful method) to detect changes during an editing session, but not for changes in the ID field (I wouldn't want to continually test for new or existing IDs every time the user hits a key).

My LOSTFOCUS event now seems to be working OK - I made some minor adjustments to my logic flow and changed buffering from row to table (see previous thread).
