Presently, to extract some data from a table, assuming SQL Server as the backend, where I would want it to be saved into a table locally, I would first do a query into a cursor and do another VFP SQL to select all records from that cursor into a table in order to have a copy of the data saved locally.

Is there something simpler that that?
