But we still have the germano-dutch words to fall back on. Take away "Flower" ( Fr. "Fleur" - Latin "Flores" or whatever), and we've still got "Bloom" (Dutch "Bloomen"); take away "table" and we've got "board", Take away "stranger" - "foreign", etc. Take away "vocabulary" and we all suffer from that. :-)
