>If, so why don't you know who is responsible. In such case we would know as soon as the fact lies on the table. Our media will find out who is politicall responsible. After some time more details will become available who might be personally responsible, but that is of secundary concern. The one with political has to explain the situation, the 2nd chaimber will judge the issue through a "motion of distrust" and that determines what should be done.

Me singular or me plural? Me singular: like I told Bennett, I could probably do some research and find out the next few layers of, say, the CIA bureaucracy. That is, if we assume that the fault lies with the CIA. However, here is an index you might find enlightening: http://www.fas.org/irp/official.html. It would be a full-time job to research who is responsible for all of the bits of intelligence - and who interpreted it - in order to pinpoint the person(s) responsible for the inaccurate assessments of Hussein's WMD abilities. It would be fascinating, but I'm not paid to do that.

Me plural - the American public - generally has no concept of government workings beyond the people they read about in the news. Most of them could care less. That's our failing.

But I have to wonder if the general population in your country have the same shortsightedness, or are they all as enlightened as you seem to think. I know a few Dutchmen, guess I'll have to ask them.
