I found the problem -- I use CEECLONE.APP by Frank Dietrich (version 0.92) for enhancing the code editor (been using it since about VFP6 or 7). I had been executing the program from the CONFIG.FPW file but had changed it to be executed from a new menu item on the 'Tools' menu pad. When CEECLONE.APP is executed from CONFIG.FPW, all works as expected; however, when executed from the menu, the DEBUG mode does not work as expected (there may also be other side effects).
