I do not live in Texas though and education in Texas (while very dissappointing) is not in my control. I do, however, have a say in the education of my daughter in the state of North Carolina and I'm afraid the school board is getting tired of my participation in their meetings. I seem to have views that are not shared by the majority of southerners here. We have a lot of students in my area that are really transients. They relocate every couple of years due to the military base. It brings in a more balanced opinion in the school board meetings at least. Many families come from all over the U.S. and will live here for 2-3 years.

>>Please tell me how the whitehouse singlehandedly stopped gay marriage and how the whitehouse is controlling what is taught or not taught in our schools Walter. In the U.S. the curriculum is actually decided by local school boards with input and guidelines by the state. That explains the sometimes large discrepancy between states. All states provide course guidelines that meet college entrance standards but other than that, it is not controlled in anyway by the whitehouse. This is also why parents will move from locale to locale or to another state so their children can attend a better school.
