I managed to get vfp9 partially working in linux...could not get ODBC to work, which brought the process to an end as I am using MySQL for the back end.

In my case, I would not run afoul of the EULA...the apps would run on windows boxes...I just want to get windows off my development machine. VFP is the last thing holding me back.

Not that windows XP is bad...I think it's a damn good OS. I don't like the direction I see MS going with Vista, however, and I think it's time to prepare to jump ship. I take offense at the idea of my OS burning processor cycles to prevent me from violating the DMCA, and the overhead for Aeroglass looks insane. Seeing as how processor speed doesn't seem to be increasing at the rate it used to, I think efficency is going to become more important for improving performance. There will always be a linux distro that focuses on being lean and mean. MS looks to be stubbornly headed for bloatville.
