Hi jean,
>>This is odd, because we can hardly understand them when they talk. :)
>>There are some games on tv with both Belgian and Dutch people, for example 'Robinson Island'. On Dutch tv the talks of the Belgians are translated, because it is a complete mystery to us what they're saying!
>Come on Peter.. I've seen it the other way around too..and that's just as ridiculous.
>I'm quite sure you would understand me without any trouble if we met.
Well, I've seem Jambers on the television and I have to admit that I could not follow much from certain people. The dialect simply was too strong. However, I've worked with a few people from belgium (from arround brussels) and there was no language barrier at all, except from some words and expressions. What I remember is: Een Tas koffie as oposed to Een beker koffie. And one dutch girl said "Dat moet ik nog even uit-vogelen", not knowing that volgelen has a very different intepretation in het vlaams.
>(hou nu toch op met die onzin)
Waarom. Dit is een leuk tijdverdrijf?
