>I have just converted from VFP7 to VFP9. Conversion has gone relatively smoothly with a few exceptions. At 2 client sites there is a lockup problem. The program will start, but when the splash screen comes up the program freezes. Rebooting the computer allows the program to start and work correctly, but if they exit and then try to restart they will have to reboot again. The border for the splash screen is visible but never fills in. There is a timer on the form and I cant help but think that at that point a call is being made into MSVCR71.dll which is somehow locking the machine. We are using a NONSTANDARD setup - I have a local directory named FoxStuff which contains the EXE and the RunTime files as well as MSVCR71. These machine originally had a copy of MSVCR71 in the windows system directory. That file has been renamed. Can anyone give me any help on how to troubleshoot and perhaps fix this problem.

Hi Calvin,

I don't see anything in your post that substantiate any relation between the problem and MSVCR71.DLL.
