>Sometimes I think it would be nice to believe in the afterlife and in God, but I just can't seem to get past the idea that it's just another mythology. We've had mythologies since humankind had recorded (including oral) history, but we look back at the past and laugh about the stuff in which people used to believe. Someday in the future, people will look back and laugh and think how quaint it was that people in this era believed in this mythology. That is, provided, of course, that there is a future to look back from.

I doubt it. The Bible is the number one selling book of all time, even though it has been burned and at times outlawed. Study a little Bible history and check it against the "minds of the day." The experts have been disproven over and over by archaelogical findings. Man has worshipped God since he was "invented."
