I don't think this matters anymore as long as the server can respond to an HTTP request. Most client environments can make an HTTP request. I have been doing simple XMLHTTP requests to both ASP and foxISAPI from VFP and Javascript clients - and - at least from the client perspective - there was no diff in performance or code. On the server side it was neat to be able to use foxISAPI and avoid the complications of ADO.
With XMLHTTP - it just doesn't seem that GUI or carrier restrictions exist any more.
What do I know!:-)
