I don't think there is a government in the world whose foreign policy is to become less influential.

Why should the United States' be different?

The difference between a) using military strength to create and protect democracies, to remove dictators and end genocide, and b) "Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer" is pretty self explanatory.

If you didn't get so personally involved in your own pre-conceived notions you'd be able to see that.
