>>>You've got your musical happy feet going, I can tell <g>. Play an upbeat number for your guests.

>>>I think your msuical tastes are more in the C & W direction but are you a Springsteen fan at all? The DVD of a 1975 concert in London on the new 3 disc annniversary edition of "Born To Run," with the E Street Band behind him in full power, is a knockout. I have been recommending it so much I am becoming tedious even to myself, but it is awesome. Every guy in the band gets his moments to shine. It inspires me to see him so democratic at the age of 23. Sorry, I used the D word <g>. Happy Thanksgiving over there on the other side of the aisle.

>>Actually, my taste in music would probably be called eclectic. I like country, folk, rock, blues, raggae, classical, bluegrass (yep),old jazz, western swing and probably some others too. Rap music isn't! Hip hop is the same trash.
>>
>>As for Springsteen, I like some of his songs. I guess my current favorites are James Taylor and Lyle Lovett. I've been to their concerts many times.

>>Did you ever attend any of the acoustic jam sessions we did at any devcon? We played songs from all over the place: Beatles, Hank Williams, Denver, Taylor, CSNY, and a bunch of obscure people too.

I do remember that you played in the acoustic jams -- along with Bill Skeels and Wayne Willingham, right? -- but was over in the headbanger room. There really are a lot of talented musicians in the FoxPro community. Supposedly the traits that make one musically inclined are similar to those that make a good programmer -- a mix of structure and improvisation. You couldn't prove that by me, as any musical ability I might have is as yet undetected. (Hmmm, I wonder what that says about my programming). A couple of weekends ago I was singing in the shower, a stirring rendition of "Don't Be Cruel," and my daughter yelled through the wall that separates the upstairs bathrooms, "Dad, stop it!" LOL

You mention James Taylor. On a truly trivial note, the first concert I ever went to, at about age 13, was James Taylor and Carole King at the Bangor Auditorium. They were both at the peak of their fame and it was a pretty big deal for Maine. I will never forget this girl named Kay Grant running and screaming to the bus after the show. She had a Dixie cup with some water in it and was clutching it like it was the lost chalice. "It's his water! It's his water!" she screamed. Completely hysterical. I should have been bright enough to take up the guitar at that point, but I was dumb even then.

Hank (Sr.) is one of my all time favorites....
