As for the advice on adding a bunch of indexes indiscriminately, I will follow your advice of finding the slow ones and concentrating on those.

I estimate there are probably no more than 20 deleted records in all the tables in my application per installation. Deletes are seldom performed. I am going to hope that means I do not need any indexes on deleted(). If that is an incorrect assumption with regard to optimization please let me know.

Otherwise, I have learned a lot and I believe I have a good plan for going forward. Thanks all for the assistance.
