Aye, and the National Health Service squandered someone's liver on him. I may sound harsh but since the 70's the only time you heard of him was when he was involved in some scandal or other, be it his boozing or women. So he remained famous for having been a star. At the weekend most if not all footy games had a standing silence for him. Did they afford this respect to all the other old footballers who have died? No. Why him? Cos he was once a prodigious talent? So lesser mortals, who led quiet lives, deserve less respect than one who was great but fell from grace? Most of them may get a quick mention on the news.

See I can't stand it when there's so much news going on in the world, so much tragedy to report on, and they spend half the bulletin focusing on someone who threw his life away. I've got nothing against the guy as the talent he was, but since he's been a waste of space.
