I strongly disagree, Intellisense is one of the best features in VFP, and is now also adopted in other MSFT tools. But by all means, you are free to disagree, but you give up one of the best tools available.

However, to turn this feature off: Tools->Options->Editor->Background compile. Many people, myself included, prefer "Red inverse" to the standard "underline" .
