BTW, stand-alone version of Execl 2003 has XML support.

My problem is that the Standard and Professional versions of Excel 2003 returns oExcel.Version = 11.0; and looking at the build versions will show that both Excel have the same exact version. The only difference is that on one machine it says: "Part of Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003" and the other machine says: "Part of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003".

>>It seems that the XML functionality is part of the Office suite and not Excel. Is there a way to get or 'trap' for this Office version within VFP?

Another information that I found interesting. On one of the machines that had Office Standard Ed, we uninstalled the Excel application and installed the Excel application that came in with the Office Professional Ed. Used to not work but after the installation change, the XML functionality worked. Again, both Excel versions displayed exactly the same build version: 11.6355.6408
