Bob,

You didn't show your height calculation. There are several fontmetric() values for height. Namely 1,2,3,4 and 5 although some of them are accounted for inside others. It's been too long since I looked at these so I don't remember off the top of my head.

If your text is full of wide characters like W you might end up underestimating the width, which may cause clipping.

I don't know if VFP will recalc everything at report run time or not. You might want to put your report through a MODI REPORT NOWAIT after you have created it and use a KEYBOARD Ctrl-W to close the designer before you run the REPORT FORM command.

>I guess my question is, do I have to worry about it, or does it recalculate all the widths and heights on the fly when I do the REPORT FORM. So far it seems the text is printing ok, even though my heights are too small. If my widths are too big, of course it will print everything, but are there any "bad" side effects.
