>>>>PS Liverpool, where I come from, we're all assumed, by the rest of the country, to be "... brash, loud, ill-mannered ...". ("Mersey Mouth", "Scouse Git" are common expressions). Perhaps I'd make a good American?

>>>But didn't those four nice young men come from Liverpool? They were nice. Maybe it's just you... <g>

>>We're also supposed to be wise-acres, smart-arses and amusing. That's the persona the "Fab Four" portrayed. Anyway, didn't John become an "honorary" American, living in the Dakota Building, effecting a trans-Atlantic accent?

>John became "ours" in NY sometime in the late seventies. Too bad about him; he was the truly talented one. Ringo does children's shows - very good actually - and Sir Paul is all about the fur. I always thought George was the one who seemed the most normal out of the bunch.

I remember when Lennon died, about the same time as the plucky British "molecule weight" boxer, Johnny Owen died in the ring (in the 5th I believe). The typical British sick humour came up with the following:

Q. What did John Lennon and Johnny Owen have in common?

A. Neither of them could stand five rounds."
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
