i haven't found much info about this error message.

Make sure that the parameter to GETOBJECT() is exactly the same string as the one you used in RegisterObjectAsFileMoniker

e.g. \\yourServer\share\filename.obj'

and the file may not be in the root directory of drive C (see KB article).

visa: i thought about that but i needed to setup a special Paypal account for this which i didn't want for a reason i didn't remember anymore :).

helpfile: yes, I know it's missing, but since i've not gotten much feedback at all, the supplied Intellisense script and example project have to be sufficient for the time being.
