The BIG problem is once we started this we have to finish. There are various scenarios, all of them far worse then anything ever involving Saddam. Such as civil war, or forming an alliance with Iran.

The scenarios that were discussed as reasons for not going to war have proven far more prophetic then welcoming us with open arms and showering us with flowers.

>>>>Obviously not Obama. "War is hell" as you may have heard. This means sacrifices will be made. I stand on the fact that we have had NO terrorist attacks since 9/11 and I believe it is due to our efforts. We don't need to turn tail and run, we need to finish the job.

>>>John,
>>>
>>>But what's the job? Senator Obama hit the nail on the head (if you'll pardon the cliche) when he said that anyone who criticizes the war effort is being labeled as some one who wants to "cut-and-run". There's no sense of direction here...we're "staying the course".
>>>
>>>IMO, we need to have clear exit strategy. Obviously, there wasn't one to start with.
>>
>>I haven't heard a definite date, but I have heard we are going to stay until the area is stabilized. I also heard that the generals who are running things believe it would be disasterous for us to pull out - until then. I agree!
>
>The problem is that we didn't go in with an exit strategy. For the betterment of all concerned, we need to develop one.
>
>How many troops won't die because we tell the Iraqi's, "You've got to take care of yourselves?"
