>You have a point, up to a point. When the Democrats controlled Congress under LBJ, Tip O'Neill, et al, they were not known for gentle bootprints. But IMO the current regime takes adversarial politics to a new, and unhealthy, level. To them it is all-out partisanship. We will crush you and we will dance on the graves of your children.
But I don't see it that way. IMHO it has been the Democrats that have been the major pushers of partisanship. They aren't used to finding themselves outside of power, after controlling Congress for so long, and all they've done has been whine and moan since the 2000 election.
>How exactly is this in the best interests of anyone but their enablers, i.e. the rich?
Dang. You were almost making sense there, but blew it with that statement.
>This is a truly terrible time in our nation's history for all the rest of us.
Let's put things in the proper perspective, shall we? The Great Depression - THAT was a terrible time. Prohibition? That sorta sucked, too. But now? I fail to see how this is such a terrible time.
