>I did not read this message before I wrote that one.

You quoted it in your own post! How could you NOT have read it?

>You're reaction is perfectly fine with me. Hey it is free speech over here too. There problem however is however how can you talk about civilisation when you admit that politics are dirty in your country. You're politicians don't talk in terms of civilisation. They talk the word of power and war instead. History tells us what the result is of that kind of behaviour. Ussually it is war.

Civilization: you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Our politicians talk in words that they think will get them elected. How you choose to interpret it is up to you, but I don't recall any great clamoring of power and war in any recent elections.

Politics is only one part of any civilization.

>>>LOL, You really think that you are better off when taxes are low? That is the stupidest remark I ever heard.

>>Prove me otherwise. Anecdotes don't cut it.

>The top of the countries with the best quality of life and life standard have high taxes. Sweden outranks the US in many aspects.

If you are going to call me stupid for believing that lower taxes make me better off, I want mathematical proof. Not some comparison of "quality of life" (a fuzzy term at best) on a country-wide scale. Europe has more socialist tendancies than the US in general. But there are some parts of the US - if you look at it on a state-by-state basis - that are more liberal than others. Connecticut and Massachusettes are that way. I have relations in both states, and their tax burden is crushing the middle class.

>To be fair, you'll see a lot of articles having the opposite viewpoint. But that is not the point. See what europe is about, and learn why america is not utopia. There is no need to drum the 'america is superiour' drum: There is a large world outside the american world. If you don't wan't to look at europe, at least look at what is happening in for example Canada.

Did I claim the US is superior, or a utopia for the rest of the world to aspire to? Not once. You, however, keep claiming that Europe is so much better than the US. And every time I challenge you on it, you backpedal. Stop generalizing. Anyone with the slightest interest of what goes on outside their door knows there are lots of differences, some good, some bad, and some just odd.

>They keypoint I find absurd in your country is the 'rotten political system'...Now look at your political system. How much did it change in the last hundred years?

Perhaps you've heard of Tammany Hall? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammany_Hall) That kind of large-scale corruption just isn't possible any more. The media watches too closely for just that sort of thing. American politics have changed quite a bit in the last century, although the changes have been more subtle than are realized by outsiders.

Look, you are entitled to your own opinions about our current administration and its conduct on the world stage. I'm entitled to disagree with you on them, too. But if you are going to broadly condemn us for having a "rotten political system" you better be able to back it up.

>Again, how difficult is it to get the point. History is history and we can not change anything in the past...

How difficult is it to get my point? Western Europe damn near destroyed itself. Eastern Europe is still rebuilding. History tells us that the American system of government was built in part because of problems in Europe. The long view of government in Europe is not a very pretty one.

>Conservatism, means decline.

Your opinion. Try looking up the word. It doesn't mean the same thing to me.

>The US have a big reputation on innovations in science and economy. Can you explain why this should not apply to politics and civilisation.

Without a massive overhaul, our government will not be like what you have now. Our politics will never be the way yours are, because our societies are not the same. We have different experiences, different histories, different expectations. Yes, there may be some lessons we can get from looking at the way Europeans do things, but you cannot legislate civility into politics. How hard is that to grasp?
