I am doing an application that uses Java to communicate with a VFP IIS server. With XML messaging we can have a VFP desktop GUI communicate with a JSP server, or we can have a JavaScript browser GUI communicate with a VFP Server.
Why throw away all that VFP code when you can resuse many of the data handlers by embedding them in a VFP server. Of course, with the Java Browser, you will have to learn a little DOM (no convienient XML to Cursor) to manipulate the DOM.
JavaScript is pretty poerful and very flexible. But - if you move to JSP - then you may have to run a server like Apache "under" IIS.
