I have a VFP 5.0a prog which reads excel files and updates five dbase IV dbf's through remote views (ODBC). Four of these get updated properly but one comes up with an error. "Connectivity error:[Microsoft][ODBC dBase Driver] Data type mismatch in criteria expression" even though both the structures are the same (the view and the dbase dbf.)

The problem dbf has a few date fields and if I change all the date fields to character fields it then works OK. I have also noticed that when I "disp stru" the record length is different between the dbfs and the views even though the fields and their lengths are the same, why? Is it something to do with Nulls? In the View the Null column shows Yes while the Null column in the dbf is no.
