Hi everyone,

I just have to report that this week, Randy Brown and I participated in a 2-day VFP Devcon in Prague, Czech Republic. Attendence was over 750 developers. I believe this makes the Prague Devcon the largest Fox event ever held outside the United States. The conference was organized by Microsoft Czech Republic and a gutsy local company named Daquas, which has been a leading Fox company in the Czech Republic for many years.

I guess you could say that the Czech Republic and Slovakia are a real Fox hotspot. Most developers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are using Fox 2.x, as there is no Czech version of VFP. Let's hope they can someday get a version of VFP localized in Czech. They certainly deserve one. Other factors are involved too, of course, like a large installed base that's 16-bit Windows or DOS.

Also, yesterday in Budapest Hungary, we participated in a one-day event that drew 130 developers. Clipper is very strong in Hungary, and many developers in the audience were Clipper developers.

All this to say, once again, that there is a heck of a lot more Fox development going on in many places in the world than a lot of people realize...
