You have got to be kidding me with this last paragraph. If you eliminate smokers, you eliminate about 50% of the best VFP coders in the world. Eating at one's desk? Always seemed to me a mark of a professional who didn't want to leave their work.

I always considered myself a pretty good VFP developer; having won MVP for 5 straight years from '97 through '01....but, apparently, I'd be a piece of garbage in your company's eyes because I smoke, frequently eat at my desk, and I'm not terribly grown up.


While most everyone agrees that the eating at a desk rule is silly, in "fairness" the post said they don't allow smoking in the office. They're not eliminating smokers, they just don't want it done in the office, which I would agree with.

About 50% of the best VFP coders smoke? Hmmm....I wouldn't have thought it to be that high, but I'm just guessing.

If you don't mind me asking, on average, how much do you smoke?
