The error that the browser was giving me was:

setregistry.getcompanylist c:\windows\classes\setregistry.vct Error in line 11 Object is not contained in a FORM.

I thought that this error was misleading and when I investigated, I decided that it had to do with the 255 character restriction. It turns out that it was not a 255 character limit problem at all. The FORM that the error refered to was a thisform in the code.
