I would not do it the way you are doing it. We are likely to have a difference of opinions on whether my way of doing it is the "best" way or not. *g*

If your way works and you are getting acceptable performance and no user complaints then keep doing what you are doing.

There are other times though when you need a connection to persist much longer than a single SQL command and if your framework prevents that you are unnecessarily limiting yourself.

This practice is really base on my Database Web Application development, which I also practice to my VFP application development when it comes to client/server app. Thats why I ask if my "best" practice is ok or not a good practice.
