I think that's an overstatement. Folks I know in the VFP world who smoke are John, Dan Freeman, Jim Booth, Marcia (sometimes <g>). Probably others, but that's who comes to mind immediately.

In every shop I've been in, there's usually been 1 smoker out of 4, 1 out of 5, etc. Yeah, I thought 50% is high.

Most .NET developers I know are a little younger, so I would have thought (hoped) the ratio would have been even lower, but I still see 1 in about 4 smoking. Very sad to see. At the risk of being preachy, a vice I will never understand.
