25% of Federal tax.
But don't forget, with your take home you get to pay:
State income tax (most states)
Sales tax
Property tax
Gasoline tax
taxes on your utility bill
taxes on your cable bill
taxes on your phone bill
taxes on your cell phone bill
taxes on dividends
tax on interest earned
Intangibles state tax
Tangibles state tax
county business tax
city business tax
sin taxes (alcohol, tobacco, gambling)
etc., etc.....
>Actually 25% period is closer to reality. If your check is 4,000/mth gross, then plan on taking home about 3000.00 a month after taxes. More or less depending on medical insurance or 401K you contribute to, your withholding allowance based on your deductions at the end of the year (I get most of my taxes back because I file head of household since I am a single parent and I own a home).
