>My daughter found out when she was 8 or 9 (can't remember the year but I clearly remember the discussion). She asked me how did the Easter bunny get rabbits made in China (her stuffed rabbit had a made in china tag on it). While we were discussing it (while driving in the car) it dawned on her that I was the Easter Bunny. She was actually ok with that until after thinking about it for awhile she started crying in the car. I asked her what was wrong and she realized that if I was the Easter Bunny I was probably Santa Claus as well. And the tooth fairy, etc. It was a traumatic experience for both of us!

I secretly lament that my nestlings have grown beyond "Toys R Us". I miss shopping for Barbie accessories. I miss the bouquet of freshly hewn PVC Leggos!:-)

But I think I still beleive in Santa Clause!:-)

>>When I was 8 I had an argument with my next door neighbor, Edmund (he was nine). I don't think it came to blows (we were both skinny geeky dorks), but I do remember the we [both] left the discussion with tears in our eyes.

>>Edmund and I agreed that the Easter Bunny was probably not real. But we disagreed on Santa Clause. I argued Santa was "real". Edmund insisted that he was not. It was very heated. At the end we were both babbling. Edmund was probably sad because he remembered how comfy things were when he did beleive in Santa. I teared because I realized that Santa was probably as intangible as the Easter Bunny.
