>>>Has anyone used GoToMyPC? Care to share your experiences - good or bad? Can anyone offer a real-world comparison with the likes of pcAnyWhere, VNC etc.? TIA
>>
>>My previous employer used GoToMyPC. I didn't have any issues with it. Even working from at home using GoToMyPC was relatively painless. I am not sure how much GoToMyPC costs compared to pcAnywhere, but I think GoToMyPC is a monthly fee where pcAnywhere is a one-time expense (well you have to pay to upgrade).
>>Currently I am using both remote desktop (free) and RealVNC (free) and I am very happy with those two options.

>From what I've found that's right, GoToMyPC is $20-25 month vs. one-time cost for pcAnyWhere (or $0 for VNC variants). But the great advantage is no client software installation so you can use it with locked-down Web cafe machines etc.

>Can you recall what the responsiveness was like compared to pcAnyWhere or VNC?
I recall the responsiveness was just as good as I remeber pcAnywhere was. As I am sure you know it depends a lot on your connection.
There is no client software to install for Remote Desktop (assuming the client is XP or better), but I guess that feature could be locked down.
