Interesting article in this weeks Newsweek:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10313614/site/newsweek/They were discussing the article on the radio this afternoon with the author. Basically, most of the neocons have been forced out or quit their prior posts. The author gave an example of reports he's received of major disagreements between Rumsfeld and Wolfeawitz that probably helped to get him to accept the job at the world bank.
And Cheney has lost a significant amount of power also. The author was commenting he thinks Rumsfeld is much the better for it. He couldn't rely on Wolfeawitz before. He likes to work with a strong #2 whom he can depend on for good decisions. Woleawitz was too much of a academic type, trying to define the world within his academic point of view. This had severe limits.
It would appear that some within the administration are admitting that they've made some major mistakes in Iraq.
Hopefully, it won't be too late. But since they are already talking 10 yrs out, I think they realize the quaqmire we are in.
