I am familiar with using the MSCOMM control to communicate with other devices through the serial port. As computers progress, you find fewer serial (com) ports and more USB ports.

They make a cable that goes from serial to USB, so I have no problem hooking up my serial device to my USB port. But how do I communicate with the USB port. Do I still use the MSCOMM control ?

I'm faced with this or adding a serial port card to my pc.
